Michele Ramey is a Marriage and Family Psychotherapist-Associate specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and maintains a private practice in Cool Springs area in Brentwood, TN as well as a telehealth practice in Tennessee and Alabama.
I offer child, adolescent/young adult, couple and family therapy in a private practice. I specialize in Systemic Therapy with children and adolescents/young adults, ages 2 and up, couples and families with psychological and behavioral problems. I work with children individually and also provide therapy for families and parents.
I am very passionate about helping my clients become more self-aware and achieve personal growth. I work with my clients to help them understand the challenges they face and help them to build coping skills so that they are able to succeed and thrive in their community and home. In my work, I like to be empathic and compassionate, yet bring playfulness, fun and humor into the room with all ages when appropriate. I view therapy as a collaborative process, especially with the parents of the children I see and use a variety of evidence-based treatments that have a high track record of success. I received my B.A. from Oakwood University in Human Development and Family Studies as well as a M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies with a Concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of Alabama. I am a Pre-Licensed Professional in Tennessee and Alabama, (1455 TN, A253) pursuing licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist. My supervisors are Dr. Amy Frew, Ph.D., LMFT, RPT-S, AAMFT Approved Supervisor (817 TN) and Dr. Pamela Hernandez-Kaufman, LMFT-Supervisor (868 TN).
I take a relational approach utilizing a play, sand and art approach. I am currently pursuing Play Therapy certification, under supervision. I have 3 years of supervision hours and continuing education credits in Play Therapy. I also have a variety of certifications of completion from 2014 to the present in relation to therapy.
