Sometimes commitment can be intimidating or overwhelming. With the session focused on the immediate solutions, my clients are able to get what they need to make change. Single Session Solution Focused Brief Therapy is an evidence-based therapy. The idea is a combination of Solution Focused Brief Therapy and the Book by Dr. Arnold Silve “When One Hour is All You Have.” If ongoing therapy is uncertain, single sessions are encouraged. This session is to help clients decide if the session has been sufficiently helpful or if another session (or more) is needed.
With Single Session Therapy, paperwork is expected to be thoroughly read and completed prior to the appointment. The sessions enable clients to meet with a systemic psychotherapist at their moment of choosing. “There is no red tape, no triage, no intake process (paperwork will be completed prior to the session) and no wait. There is no formal assessment, no formal diagnostic process, just one hour of therapy focused on clients’ stated wants” (Silve et al., 2009, p. 6).
The Single Session SFBT is available throughout the week, Sunday- Wednesday 9am-5pm, on a weekly basis, via online telehealth therapy.
